The Reason for the Hope
Revealing Romans
Rome is famed for the Colosseum and the Pantheon, both of which are symbols of paganism. One as the scene of sacrifices of Christians and the other as a memorial to the false gods of nations Rome had conquered. And yet; Paul, in writing the letter to the Romans praises the church brethren using the following words: “Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.” – Romans 15:14
Despite the many and manifest difficulties for Roman Christians, Paul appreciated their maturity and ability to grasp the principles of the faith. Thus, we understand Paul wrote the letter to the Romans to explain the reason for Christian hope. For the same reason, we come to this Summer School for Paul – through the Holy Spirit’s anointing – to share with us the profound truths that shape the Christian faith.
The hope presented to us in Romans is secure because it rests on God’s character, not human achievement. Paul shows that God remains faithful to His promises and invites believers to embody this hope through love, humility, and peace. Romans reveals a hope that is rational, transformative, and anchored in God’s unwavering mercy. This is the history of Jesus Christ’s triumph through the cross and a hope born in the first-century Church in the midst of, perhaps, the grossest abuses of the faith the world has seen.
The BMi Summer School presents an opportunity to spend several days immersed in the Word of God, with solid teaching from a variety of speakers. The Summer School is open to all who wish to attend.

Billet Accommodation
We expect there will be limited billet accommodation with church families, on a first-come-first-served basis. Although final details are not yet available you can indicate your interest and we will contact you as details come available.
Billet costs will be approximately $50 per day for a couple including bed and breakfast.
Transport
It is strongly recommended that attendees, where possible, travel by private car. If this is not possible and you need to travel by air to Sydney please complete transport request details in the registration form.
Cost
The cost per delegate is $220, which includes morning tea and lunch each day. Breakfast and evening dinner are not included. As in previous years there are meal options within easy range of the Church, which will be announced at the Summer School.
Program
The BMi Summer School begins with a session at 2:00pm on Monday 11 January and concludes with lunch on Thursday 14 January. Each day will include some free time for fellowship and digestion of the session content. The sessions will cover the first 15 chapters of Romans; plus worship to begin each day with three Question and Response sessions interspersed through the program.
