MPFG is a faith operating work for the less privileged children in our society, aiming to offer them help to uplift them from the dark world where they are in without hope of life, where opportunities are not possible, where dreams were stolen from the heart of a child due to the demand of rejection and fear of the future, where love and care are not available because of ignorance and greed. Where there are no possibilities at all.

MPFG is a service heartily given to those who cannot help us in return. It’s not “something for something” but a work where we can build an atmosphere that will make a difference in the world around us touching and changing lives. The faith operating work of MPFG is a possible mission towards the holistic growth and development of the future generations through partners who have responded and believe in what we do and whose generosity has enabled us to move on in our desire to see our vision to come to reality and rejoice as we see God’s plan and purpose being fulfilled in this generation and of the coming generations.

MPFG’s focus and concern is not only to a child but is also giving space to the family through building relationship, and extends help in whatever ways we can, while we can for the day will come when we can no longer, but will leave and live with God in eternity.

MPFG scripture promises:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
“For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth.” Psalm 71:5
“For with God nothing will be impossible.” Luke 1:37

What is the sponsorship all about?

MPFG has been running for a number of years, it started by simply feeding children in slum areas a healthy meal once a week, and has grown into an education program for children who are unable to attend school. This program was set up and funded 100% through Philippine churches. Since March 2005 we have gotten involved by finding sponsors to help share the burden of costs.

MPFG is an opportunity for you to partner with us in changing the lives of children from the slum areas of the city of Bacolod. At the cost of $150 Australian Dollars per year, one child has the opportunity to receive an education that would otherwise be unavailable to them. The sponsorship money provides the child a meal at school, and supplies them with a school uniform and shoes. As equally important the sponsorship money provides for medical needs the child may have, because families living in the slums cannot meet the expense of medical help. To sponsor child requires a long-term commitment depending on how long the child is involved in the MPFG program. At this stage due to the costs associated with setting it up, the program is not a charity organisation and is therefore not tax-deductible.

The program is administered by Pastor Joe and Primrose Chavez along with a team of workers in Bacolod (pictured below), and 100% of sponsorship monies go directly to the necessities of the child and to the immediate family if there is a need for food or the like.

The past 12 months has seen the introduction of sports into the schooling curriculum. Basketball, swimming, badminton, soccer and volleyball are all offered and a sports uniform is being supplied as funds are available.

What the sponsorship pays for:

•	New uniform and new shoes
•	School supplies (i.e. writing instruments etc).
•	Hygiene supplies (i.e. toothbrush & vitamins).
•	Gifts of food to the family
•	A party or excursion during the year
•	A birthday present
•	Medical costs
•	Any other areas that can be financially supported as funds are available.

You can choose to make payments of either $75 every 6 months, or $150 in a lump sum annually.

As of June 2011 there are 122 children currently sponsored through MPFG, and there are approximately 71 more children on the waiting list wanting education that are currently seeking sponsorship. Children who are not sponsored as yet, are still supported by the Philippine churches, as well the costs for teachers, administration costs, school registration fees etc.

The heart of Pastor Primrose Chavez is to break the cycle of poverty for these children, so that by learning to read and write English they will have the chance to find paid work. Without this opportunity, many children are begging on the streets.

Yes you can write to your child!

Some sponsors choose to send letters/photos to their children, others don’t – that’s entirely your decision, we only ask that whatever is sent is flat and no larger than an A4 envelope. This is required to be posted along with payments when they are requested in May & November each year.

Donations:

Some sponsors choose to send an extra $10-$20 as a gift to the family of their sponsor child. This is receipted and sent with the periodical payment and again is up to the individual. We do ask that the amount be no more than $20AUD.

Larger donations are gratefully accepted are sent to the MPFG leader Pastor Primrose Chavez to distribute to MPFG’s overheads, i.e. the teacher’s support, administration costs, and school registration fees etc.

Our Vision:

That the hope we give will continue to flourish and give life to the hopeless and to see them achieve their potentials through God-given abilities and gifts to become one of the dynamic leaders of a better tomorrow and beyond.
